OpenCL is about GPU programming, yes some x264 work is being ported on the GPU too now
but x264 is already a finish product in terms of quality their are no more features on the H264 standards that can make x264 more higher quality that is why H265 is being tackled and made at the moment

but for speed improvements yes X264 (well some parts of it) can be finally ported to GPU encoding and its starting with x264 OpenCL

at higher resolution, additional RAM will help. Mbtree requires RAM, and x264 analysis is frame-based, thus the bigger the frame the more the RAM... More would be faster ...

not you too Hichago, Mbtree or specifically rc_lookahead=250 the max is pointless to begin with as long as you stay at the max default of rc_lookahead=60 you do not need more RAM than your operating system require, 32-Bit OS need max 3GB of RAM and 64-bit OS need at least 4GB of RAM and thats it
