Well, I loved Afro Samurai and it is for sure worth a watch, especially since it is only 5 episodes long. So, without further ado, onto the review:

    Story:
The story follows a samurai who lives in a world where having the number one headband makes you a god. After watching his father, who possessed the number one headband get killed by the number two, Afro swore vengeance on the man who killed him. He wouldn't stop for anything and, because of this, he's was pretty much alone in the world. There are some really good twists and surprises too that will keep you watching until the very end. Overall, 8/10

    Animation:
There are a lot of action scenes and atmospheric portions to be had in this anime and the animators hit the nail on the head in every part. With beautiful scenery, effect, battle animation, and color usage, this is one of the best 2-D animations around. I mean, there are hardly even any loops in the entire anime. Overall, 10/10

    Sound:
A great atmosphere accompanied by some great voice actors and sound effect makes for a great anime experience. Everything in this category was pretty much spot-on. The only complaint I have is that in some parts, the voices are really quiet and you have to turn it up to hear, but then an action scene comes and it is too loud. Overall, 9/10

    Character:
The story is interesting and the characters are no different. Unfortunately, other than Afro, there isn't a whole lot of characterization for the characters. I mean, they all get some form of identity or back story, but none of them become quite as memorable as the main character, which for me is somewhat disappointing. Still, for a 5 episode series, there was a fair amount of character. Overall 7/10

    Enjoyment:
I found this indulging adventure to be overwhelmingly enjoyable. Overall, it is very well directed and put together. Though, it couldn't have hurt for it to be a little longer with more recognizable characters and even back story. However, this hardly hindered an already great experience. Overall, 9/10

    Encode:
I found the encode to be perfect. There is no delay, lag, choppiness, or loss of quality AND the resolution is fairly high, but somehow the file is still very small. Excellent job encoder(s)! You made one of the best encodes I've seen... Ever! Overall, 10/10

So, those are my thoughts, I hope you found this review helpful and enjoy this anime as much as I have. Please note that this isn't a kid friendly or family friendly anime. It is a very mature title that should be viewed only by those mature enough to watch it.

    Possible Spoilers!!

Overall: Overall, this is the definition of "great anime". It has an amazing plot accompanied with amazing plot devices, over-the-top animation, stupendous voice-acting, amazing environmental sounds, a great sound track, well developed characters, non-stop enjoyment, and plenty of twists to keep your head spinning.

    Story:

The story is about a high school student, Lelouche, who notices how violent and corrupt the world is. In a post-war Japan where Britannia rules, and slum people, known as elevens, are treated very unfairly and are beat around by the "better" people, There exists a power known as "Geass". One day, Lelouche finds himself in the middle of a knightmare (military battle mechs) battle and he agrees to a contract proposed to him by a mysterious girl. The girl, known as CC (C-2), then grant Lelouche her version of "Geass", which allows Lelouche to control anyone once by making eye-to-eye contact and giving them orders. Now that he has the power to do it, Lelouche takes up the title "Zero" and sets out to correct the corrupted world he lives in using the power of Geass. There are loads of twists, truly lovable and truly hate-worthy characters, and an ending that will keep you wanting more. Overall 10/10.

    Animation:

Abso-freaking-lutely gorgeous to say the least. There are very fluent animations, especially in battles, well detailed environments and characters alike, and seemingly perfect shading. Besides flat-out appraisal, I don't really have much else to say about the animation. Overall 10/10.

    Sound:

The voice work present in the dub of the anime is simply the best. It has a fully likable cast behind its characters. The sound effects are real and abundant, the background noises are stunningly effective, and the musical score is great all the way around. Again, besides appraisal, I don't have much else to say about this category. Overall 10/10.

    Character:

There are many, many memorable characters to be had in this anime. The development of said characters is applied in a seemingly perfect manner as well. Plenty of character back stories and relations as well. Simply amazing. Overall 10/10.

    Enjoyment:

I found myself enjoying nearly every minute of this well-executed series and I believe you will get similar enjoyment out of it. It is very thrilling, confusing, lax, straight-forward, emotional, and twisted... Does that even make any real sense? Anyway, it is an amazing series. Overall 10/10.

    Encode:

I didn't watch this through the encode initially, but I did download one episode to check it out and it was near perfect with no syncing issues or loss of quality. It probably deserves a 9, but because I want to finish this review off with perfect score, I will give it a little more credit. Overall 10/10.

    Possible Spoilers!!!

Overall: This is a short, 13 episode series with a great conclusion and beautiful animations and a killer plot.

Story: The story is about a girl named Lucy, who was created by science. She was created to repopulate the earth with the "perfect" race, known as Diclonious (spelling?) and eliminate the currently dominant human race. She escapes her facility when she is a little girl and she meets and falls for a boy named Coda (spelling?), who hangs out with her while he is visiting his relatives in the area. After some events transpire, Coda is left with some form of traumatic amnesia and Lucy has gained a split personality. Now they are together again, but without any recollection of what transpired in their pasts. There are loads of plot twists and some very interesting characters. Overall 10/10.

Animation: This department is definitely full of win for this series. The animations are gorgeous. The only thing holding the animation back is the lack of shading in the blood, which will be on-screen often. Also, take note that this is not a family-friendly anime, as it contains intense violence, blood, gore, nudity, language, child abuse, and even some bits of underage nudity. Overall 10/10.

Sound: Accompanied with great sound effects and realistic background noises, the voice-acting is great for the most part. There are only a few moments that sound out-of-place. The musical score, especially the opening them, ending theme, and music box tune is simply beautiful and fitting for such a tale. Nothing in the background ever seems out-of-place and you can really get a feel for the world that this story takes place in. Overall 9/10.

Character: Since it is only a 13 episode series, there obviously can't be too much character development and back story, but there is a fair amount for the 6 main characters that will make you love or hate them. Unfortunately, the story focuses too much on Coda (spelling?) and Lucy for any of the other characters to really make an impression on you. However, every character still gets their fair share of screen-time. Overall 8/10.

Enjoyment: I found myself enjoying every minute of this series. In fact, I couldn't help but watch all 13 episodes in one sitting the first time and since, watching the series again 4 times. It is simply a great anime that deserves a better spot on the popularity poll. Overall 10/10.

Encode: I watched gamestar's encode, which was, to put it simply, perfect. There were no quality, syncing, frame-rate issues with this release. Overall 10/10.

This series bested the best of any series in the samurai/ninja/warrior/whatever category. I will further indulge on that in the following paragraphs. Also, before I continue, please note: my spelling of Japanese terms will likely be wrong, sorry.

The story. This series takes place during the Meiji era of Japanand, well, give or take, this is a romantic story about a man known widely as Battousai the Man-Slayer and his love interest, the teacher of a small dojo in the Kamiya Kasshin style of sword-fighting, Kaoru. Battousai is now trying to forget his past and has become a traveling Rurouni that has vowed never to kill again. He even changed his name to Kenshin Himura. While traveling through Kaoru's village, Kenshin sees Kaoru being attacked by a group of men, so he steps in and insures that the men will never raise their blade against a person ever again by breaking the leader's thumb. After this moment, their destinies become intertwined and Kenshin is lead to several events where he has to choose between his vow and another's life. Lots of interesting little plot twists and enough back-story and character development to make an elephant addicted to anime. Overall 10/10.

The animation. All the way through, the animation is spectacular, especially for it's time. There were no lazy animators on the team that did this series. The environments are beautifully done, the character animations are top-notch, and the action is always over-the-top. The animations are simply gorgeous. Overall 10/10.

The sound. As far as sound effects are concerned, this series has some of the best. The voice acting is non too lacking either. In fact, I would go as far as to say this is one of the BEST dubs I've ever heard. Everyone's voices and tone match their character's personality perfectly. The musical score in this is simply superb. The music really let's you feel like you're in the action. The only thing this series is lacking in sound is more environmental and background effects. Don't get me wrong, this anime does a great job making you feel like you are there, but it simply could have done a little more. Overall 9/10.

The characters. Some of the best I've come to know. This series has truly likable characters for protagonists and truly hate-worthy antagonists. The characterization in this anime is great, that I couldn't help but become well attached to all of the main characters and even several side characters. Probably my favorite group of anime stars of all time. Overall 10/10.

The enjoyment. Well, much enjoyment is to be had with this series. There is never really a dull moment. I found myself thoroughly enjoying this anime from start to finish. I don't even think there was any filler and, if there was, it was good enough that I didn't acknowledge it as filler. Definitely the one anime I enjoyed over all others. Overall 10/10.

The encode. The encode for this is great! Some of the best I've seen! Good job vgpd and Steveyk! There is nothing out of sync and the sound quality is great. However, the video quality could have been ever so slightly better, but it was great as well! Overall 9/10.

Well, I suppose I should review this in the order that the ratings are listed. So, here it is.

Overall, this is a great Shonen anime that, to be honest, I thought would be terrible all the way through the first few episodes, but by the end of the Zabuza part, I was hooked. It is somewhat cliche at times, but I was never bothered by it. Overall, I think this is one of my top 3 favorite anime.

    WARNING! Possible spoilers!

As for the story, many are saying it is predictable upon the first episode, but it really isn't. It is about a post-war nation that is split up into several countries that specialize in their own different ninja arts. More specifically, it is about a boy, Naruto, who lives in the Village Hidden in the leaves, which resides in the land of fire. He is an outcast who only wants to get attention that he was never able to get from his dead family. While most would simply establish a character and make friends at school, Naruto is different. You see, in order to end the last Great Ninja War, Naruto's father, the Fourth Hokage, sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox, a legendary beast sent to destroy Konoha (Village Hidden in the Leaves), inside of his sons body while sacrificing his own body to do it. Now that the Nine-Tailed Fox resides within Naruto, the villagers fear for the safety of their children and warn them to stay away from Naruto. After graduating form ninja school, Naruto finally finds friends that he considers family in his assigned squad. Now, Naruto trains his hardest to protect his new family and friends he makes along the way. Naruto's ultimate goal is to one day become hokage, the leader of the village, so everyone will stop disrespecting him and look up to him. However, when fellow squad-mate, best friend, and in Naruto's eyes, brother, Sasuke turns sour, Naruto forgets about his selfish desires and sets out to bring back his best friend. As he continues to seek his desires, Naruto will become emotionally unstable and slowly, the Nine-Tailed Fox will begin to take over his body and control his thoughts. That is about where it gets into Shippuuden, which is the second part to the Naruto story. Also, take note the the plot only runs through, I think the 130's, anything after Sasuke leaves is filler and doesn't need to be watched. As well, while only giving away spoilers for a major plot turning point, there is indeed much more in-depth character developement and plot-twists to be had. Overall 10/10.

Aright. Time to judge the animation. For the most part, I found the animation quality to be great. However, at times you can tell when the animators were just being lazy. The fighting sequences are great for the main fights, but sometimes lack during filler and less important fights. The art style used is one of my favorites, realistic, but unrealistic. By this, I mean that backgrounds and environments, as well as characters, have a flowing and realistic feel to them, but at the same time, you can tell they aren't. That is about all I have to say for the animation. Overall 8/10

Ah, the sound. This series has a pretty emotional sound track playing proper music for the proper events. My only complaint for the background score is the music used during the majority of the scenes inside the village, which is pretty annoying and tires out quickly. Other than that, the score is great, especially during sad moments. During a certain sad part, I actually did weep a little, because the track playing really added to the mood as well as the gloomy sound of rain and silence. Voice acting is great in the Japanese audio and still pretty good in the English audio (Thank god Shippuuden dropped the whole "believe it" thing.). The sound effects generally play well, but there are times when they seem out-of-place. The opening and ending songs, for the most part, are catchy and great for getting you into the feel of things. That's all. Overall 9/10.

For the most part, for me anyways, this series had a load of likable characters. There is a pretty good portion of character development for each character. I became really attached to the majority of the characters present and [Major Spoiler] when they killed off some of the main characters, I was sad to see them go. [/Major Spoiler] Often, characters will get entire episodes dedicated to their development, which are usually enjoyable. I don't want to go too in-depth with any character, because that will lead to spoilers without fail. So, yeah, I liked these characters A LOT more than most anime characters. Overall 10/10.

Enjoyment? Well, since I have mostly praised this anime up to this point, I'm sure you can assume what my response will be. I enjoyed a lot, but much less than several others. "What!? You think this anime is so great, but you didn't enjoy it!?!?" No, I didn't say I didn't enjoy it. I said I enjoyed others more. While I do love this anime enough to place it in my top 3, I had to find out the hard way that 13?+ is all filler, which greatly took away from my enjoyment of the series. I'm the kind of guy that doesn't skip an episode, even if it is filler, so by 190, it felt like a major chore to get through 220, but my friend was telling me about how great Shippuuden was, so I didn't give up.So yeah, don't make the same mistake I did, after the Naruto and Sasuke fight, start on Shippuuuden. Overall 7/10.

Almost done. Time for me to judge the encoding available on this site. For Naruto, I found the encodes to be great. They seemed a little amateur at first, but by episode 10, I found them to be just fine. Great job kmonmoy! I would have gave you a perfect 10, but the subtitles are way off sync, but then again, maybe that's just my player. Overall 8/10.
