This is the best adaptation and truly the real score if you wanna see Rurouni Kenshin. I have seen the TV adaptation series.its not so bad. But i prefer this OVA since it really deals actual depiction of Kenshin bitter and dark past. Let me just say the graphics is brutally explicit and near realism in depicting the actual sword fights. Unlike the TV series where it has moments of fun, gags and funny scenes too make it more wholesome, the OVA differ in a way it give straight to point presentation of the origins, accounts Kenshin turmoil and personal struggle. From the beginning alone you're greeted with a bloody depiction of brutal and graphically explicit massacre of a group in which Kenshin was push into. If you cant stand honest to goodness explicit graphics i guess this OVA isn't for you. But if your wanting to know the beginning the origin of it all. Then this OVA will definitely be an eye-opener for you. Its kinda gloomy the way the story ends, but its what set this samurai-anime from the rest cause its kinda tragic which is a fun factor for me in a sense its kinda realistic in way its no too mushy like some samurai anime.

Let me start my review by saying, this is so far one of the best OVA i have seen in terms of the production of graphics, animation, character and mecha designs. The main story takes place in UC 0096, three years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack and seventeen years after the One Year War. And what a better way to add some parts and sort of sequel, well not realy sequel but transition on the events unfolding the UC Century, which for me realy is the very integral part of the original gundam story-lines. Although the OVA is still ongoing, i'm compelled to make these assessments based on what i have yet seen so far on the 2 OVAs unfolding before my eyes. The opening scene seems to me have a feeling of "deja vu" of the Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, where after declaring peace, its only a matter of time where troubles starts brewing again, tensions and conflicts start to escalate. Well its pretty obvious Gundam themes always deals with the issues of wars, that's nothing new to me, but i kinda like this one compared to the last 2 series
cause its really grounded on the original UC Century. What struck me most here is the nice quality and superior character design which kinda gives you a reminiscence of the old school days character design of ZETA ,which gives distinct appeal and sense of realism of the story.

For me character design is integral part of the GUNDAM series, the last 3 series failed to me cause it kinda gives me a sense of just focusing the mecha and not the character design itself. It may be true that SEED series has the most superior firepower mecha i have seen, but it sucks on the character design itself. It pales in comparison with this 6 part OVA character design which realy gives you sense of how much time and effort they put in these OVA. These may not be your typical 50 series episodes, but for what it's worth its realy amazing how much labor they put through for almost an hour episode. And there's no denying it from the character design alone, which is realy amazing (although you may argue with my taste for realism, but for me it demands on these levels to attain a deeper sense of realism) a feast to the eye. This time they really paid attention to details of characters, color schemes and backgrounds. For the mecha part, its realy interesting they infuse animal element into the concept by infusing "unicorn" to it. But i wasn't surprised to find out cause it was done by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Hajime Katoki. Katoki was primarily responsible for designing the GUNDAM WING: ENDLESS WALTZ OVA too. Unlike the previous predecessors the GUNDAM UNICORN or RX-0 doesn't boast much of its design, structure and fire-power, but it's strength lies within the Destroy Mode. One would think the simplicity of its design illicits weak and conventional mecha. Which lead me to the point where Zeon mechas are much superior in terms of fire-power. Unlike the previous where they to content with ZAKUS now they have superior mecha at there disposals. Which makes it far more interesting on who will get the upper-hands on these conflict. With regards to the audio, its really amazing, its really crystal clear, although I'm not fun of dub, but hey it's a bonus if you tire yourself reading the subs. Encoding is really done well can't complain bout it. It's amazing how x264 codec gives you a small file-size yet retains its quality. I'm still eagerly waiting for ep 3 to come and excited to see more. This would be one of the OVAs that i really don't regret buying it in Blu-Ray. 6 episodes may be short, but hey its an almost an hour per episode plus you will forget time cause of its amazing design and production of the OVAS.

So much has been said from the moment this Japanese anime movie was premiered way back 1995, it was hailed a ground breaking work and a master-piece after AKIRA. It also introduced a whole new level, concept and sophistication in Japanese animation in terms of technique, artistic approach and innovative state of the art of animation. GITS is the brainchild work of the famous manga writer and illustrator Masamune Shirow. Some of his other hailed work and masterpiece includes APPLESEED, BLACK-MAGIC M66, DOMINION TANK POLICE and many more. Shirows stories, character's and theme borders from science fiction to cyberpunk.

To this day GITS is highly regarded as his best and highly-influential anime piece. So much so that MATRIX directors "Wachoski Brother" credited as one of their influence for creating the hit movie THE MATRIX.
The movie deals a lot of conflict in advance environment where crimes are proliferated in cyber-scale.Its not an anime for everybody who has simple understanding, comprehension and logic. In fact i suggest you try watching the movie for a lot of times to get the flow and feel of the story. Most of the time you cant
understand the main female character are saying cause of the use of jargon and techie words which needed familiarization. So unless you study lot of techie terms in cyber or computer terms, your bound to get confuse and abandoned the idea of watching the movie. This movie is crafted in a way that's its suited not for kids it has an element of an intelligent plot and deep storylines. Unless your into deeper and into philosophical discussion between science and humanity then this anime isnt for you. I might be tempted to say there's an action part of it, but most of the time the story really fluctuates when the actions subsided..so unless your open to a whole new level of watching anime on a different manner. Then this might suit you. Otherwise just immerse yourself in Dragonball Z if you don't want complex plot and story.

Mecha animation has been long the bread and butter of Japanese anime. Along with it comes the nice, cool and techie mecha designs and concepts that often amaze. As i remember a lot of mecha anime have been circulating from the late 70's, 80's and even up to now. And one of those mecha anime franchise that has been for long still growing and continuing and pulling new generation to the trend is the "GUNDAM" franchise. The first mobile suit gundam wasn't a big hit not until it was re released and condensed into a movie and learning from this mistake they decided to create a type of gundam show which not only caters to boys but also girls..so with it they laced it "bishounen" stuff or cute guys and there "Gundam Wing" was born.

It was the first gundam that focuses on five guys and their five mechas ideas which was later translated in the latest GUNDAM 00. One of the element that sets Gundam apart from the conventional mecha-anime that's commonly shown was that, it deals with humanity in deeper context and focusing on the repercussions of "WAR". G. Wing has deals a lot elements in the politics of war, deception, colonialism and social-ailments in war faring society. It's rare for a mecha anime to embrace with this kind of ideal and realistic storytelling, nevertheless the first time i saw it, i thought to my self the anime has great depths in character, plot and storytelling. Although the pacing and the action scene of anime often fluctuates from exciting to tensions in the later part. The character design and mecha designs is something worthwhile checking since it departs from the conventional design especially the Wing - Zero.

I wouldn't recommend this anime if your not into following the plot of the story since it can be trivial if you lose track one of its episode. But its sure unique sending young boys to battle and engaging the very ideas, concepts, philosophies and ideology of war which can't often misleading to each and one of us.And these anime bears it all.

One thing that is often overlooked in anime is the quality of background music they use. And Bebop has all the elements of rich, lush, and quality tunes you could hear which realy matches the mood every episode.
They have jazz, blues, funk, raggtime and etc Y. Kanno is genius anime music composer.
Yoko Kanno and Shinchiro Watanabe tandem really is a perfect match...i cant say anything more but this anime separates the men from the boys...so if your looking a unique kind of action and sounds Bebop is for you!!!!

My first impression when i was watching this anime, evokes fond memories and reminiscence of old school anime "Berserk". It has that same level of explicit and edgy type of graphics and characters, and it's contain in off-set period in the dark and medieval times. What i really like from CLAYMORE compare to BERSERK is that its character development and pacing of the story. From the start to the finished you wont be disappointed with actions and the plots. It's really pace in a way that each episode is a thrill to watch, and by definition thrill is used to violence, cause if your not that type of person who are use to watching excessive brutality, gore, decapitation of heads and lots of blood. Then stay away from these anime, this isnt your normal kiddy stuff that you watch on Disney channel. This is really hard-core mature anime so its more suited from age 14 - above. My only disappointment in these anime is that along the later episode it doesn't follow the manga plot. Nevertheless it doesn't affect the series, but i suggest you try exploring the manga,it has a lot to offer compared to the anime version. But in a way the anime has its own moments and i wouldn't mind recommending to the hardcore anime enthusiast, your time wont be wasted cause by the time you check episode 1 you'll crave for more...just be aware of your limits or else be the awaken one..hahaha..ja matta nie!!!!
