If you dont watch this, you will regret...
I'm not sure what I can call 'The Irresponsible Captain Tylor'-- Is it a satire, spoof, comical, space anime.. I dont know and i dont want to find it ..May be because it was an anime which started a new genre which makes the viewer empathetic about something which he always feared of.. The whole series has some flaws but it is the series that made even flaws enjoyable and flaws was neatly knitted to the original story...
Story:
The story of the anime makes the series special.. It is something more than the funny anime it looks at first..The captain Tylor as always told in anime is either an idiot or genius or both..It is the confusion that exist in our head that makes the series progression worthwhile..We are constantly tilted to the both sides of the Tylors mind..It conceales philosophical in the story about how to live and why live, a subtle satire of the military mentality and war in general, and perhaps even a commentary on the unstoppable change youth is bringing to Japanese culture.it’s a pretty awesome parody of the space genre, poking fun at the incredible luck that protagonists are blessed with and also shows the cliches like by having every girl in love with the hero..
But the main attraction of series its ending..This show comes and delivers an absolutely fantastic finale that is nothing like the rest of the series, yet ties everything together perfectly, delivers an epic climax and is completely unpredictable in every way.The climax makes the anime an absolute CLASSIC..
Animation:
The animation is ok..And the drawings of characters are appropriate..
Sound:
The sound and music is good
Character:
The Characters are so well drawn and developed accurately.. The characters actually grows on you..Tylor alone dont steal the show.. He has the perfect balance of supporting characters, ranging from Yuriko Star, the uptight, by-the-book lieutenant; Yamamoto, the even-more by-the-book traditionalist, who is prone to weeping spells and dramatic speeches, the marines Andressen and Cryburn, who could have been pulled out of Starship Troopers (mind you, the Heinlein novel, not the Hollywood travesty), and the obligatory cute teenage twins, Yumi and Emi, who turn out to be pretty darn good fighter pilots...
Enjoyment:
This is one of my top 5 anime and that says it all.. I enjoyed every moment irrespective of flaws or brilliances..EVeryone will say the anime irequires patience and so on..But if you are gonna miss this you are missing a classic mind it...
Encode:
Encode is ok and the clarity that one can expect from 90's anime series z there..
You wont regret watching this...
I'm a die hard fan of space anime and I was always in constant search of anime which has space battles, crew chemistry, the silent love themes etc.. I was lucky to find these anime and I enjoyed every bit of the anime.. It was so close to my taste..
Story:
Like everyone I was so dazzled by the Cowboy Bebop.. The story of the bounty hunter and his crew was really enjoyable to anime fans everywhere.. So when I read the synopsis of outlaw star I thought it as a cliche type and feared it might be actually copying the attributes of Cowboy Bebop..But I wanted to give it a try and after the first episode itself I found my judgement right.. Outlaw Star was different from Bebop or any other space or bounty hunter anime..It can compete with any other anime of its genre for its worth... The whole story is weaven out of mysteries blended with romance, comedy, action etc.. The whole story seems mysterious and at times you seem philosophical.. The question of Melfina is same as we essentialy ask to ourselves "Who am I and Why am I made??"..
The difference I felt after watching Outlaw Star is the enjoyment of fillers in the series..Even though the whole series is a search to a Leyline, the journey and incidents in the journey are so comical and funfilled that you wont ever feel bored..
Animation:
The animation is top notch and the drawing is so different..You will feel attached to the characters by the drawing itself..The Bandai Entertainment has done more than justice to the animation..It is very flowing and you will feel yourself glued to the whole series just by animation
Sound & Music:
I dont know if I say that the most saddest song (infact a lullaby)I ever heard in an anime is the ending theme song-- Hiru no Tsuki.. I just loved the song and the beginning theme song 'Through the Night' kicks off with a bang.. The second ending theme song is also worth mentioning..So the overall sound and music quality is top quality and the whole thing will make you more attached to the anime...
Character:
The characters are so apt for the story line..You will start to like them the moment they are introduced..This likeability comes straight from Outlaw Star’s cast of original quirky characters. From the braniac Jim Hawking, to the silent but deadly samurai girl, Suzuka, everybody will find someone to love..May be the whole mysterious nature makes them more lovable.. The characters are developed gradually..Even without telling the past of some main characters, the whole story is developed in such a way that you will know it yourself..
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed every part of the anime..It's a anime that calls for rewatch always .. If you are a space anime lover you tumbled into the right place..This is a must watch for you all.. Now for all others who wanted to have action, romance ,fun in anime this anime gives you all..So dont leave it..Watch it..Its worthy...
Encode:
The encode is good and in this small size encoder should be appreciated for having such good quality animation..
Flawed plot but enjoyable in certain moments...
I don't know where I heard these anime..but after checking out the anime synopsis I found the story interesting..The whole thing about elements-fire,earth etc seems nice and intriguing..
But after watching the first few episodes I found it mediocre.. Anyway the whole idea of Kazumi being wind user in a family of fire users (a black sheep !!) was good and it helped me to complete the whole series.. :).
The plot was weakened with many flaws.. there are still many plot holes like Why did Vernhardt use Tsuo Rin to death and the past of Kazumi whole seems like a mystery..but the important failings of the anime is it remained mystery to the viewer even after the end of series.. The chemistry between Ayane and Kazumi light some sparks at certain moments but it always end in a weaker or angry Ayane.. The thing I found most amusing here is the mind conflict between Kazumi and father.. It was really funny sometimes. The character growth is almost unorganized.. Many are given unnecessary charater growth whereas some things are never mentioned at all...The fight scenes are good with goofy times.. But the idea of the main protagonist always winning sometimes can make your suspense and spirit dampened...
The music was ok for such a mediocre anime and the anime quality is also good...
So the one who is looking for a magical anime and one who need some fights it is good.. Rest you can try it for a time pass...
Must for a Space anime lover...
I'm a die hard fan of Space Animes and so come across these after seeing many classics like Cowboy Bebop,Tylor etc... The first episode was just like an ordinary anime with animation and sound both below average.. But as the series progressed and the main story was revealed the thrill and excitment was always there.. The character presentation is quite good and the growth of a character from one episode to another is evident. All the main characters Kane Blueriver,Canal, and Millie are adorable.. The action and storyline is pretty good. The problem that I found is there are some plot holes and couple of unanswered questions..But I dont think it may affect your enjoyment of the anime... The only flaw I can find is the quality of the animation...It can be sometimes so poor.... But even with all these flaws its a must see for Space anime lovers.. And for others if you want to see a good anime try it...
