Not really ecchi, but cute~
The story:
A 23-year-old man, Naoya Touhara is summoned to the kingdom of Ygvar to be the succubus princess's harem, whose mother's extreme excesses have led her to develop a fierce hatred and disgust toward all men. Naoya become her servant (or what she calls "toy") and have her heart opened towards him by making her a present. Then, Naoya's 10-year-old daughter followed and become best friends with the princess, who has no idea that Asuha, is actually her older sister. Their bonds grew stronger day by day. Astarotte is also jealous of his popularity with the females and causes a riot. Soon, a rival appeared and proposed to Astarotte.
Animation:
The anime is is well made. Cute characters and they created a world with colourful backgrounds. The quality is well preserved throughout the anime. I liked the setting for the fantasy world with the nine realms. The Tree of World is not as spectacular like I'd imagine it would be, but it definitely played an important role to the story. The writer made a thorough research on planning the world setting.
Sound:
OP and ED are rather enjoying and peaceful. The BGM played during the touching moments add points to it. The voice actress for Astarotte, Kugimiya Rie, who also played as Sanzenin Nagi (in Hayate no Gotoku!) has done a great job making her sound as cute as possible.
Characters:
If you are a fan or Hayate no Gotoku!, you will see similarities in the master and servant relationship. Naoya is devoted, and always tries his best just to make her happy. He stays at her side, giving her support and solving her issue with her mother. Finally, he finds out that he holds a strong feelings towards the little princess before leaving the world.
Astarotte, whose father died at when she's still young, left the palace and live lonely and separated from her mother. She is concerned of her mother. She pretends to be strong at the surface but always show her true emotion. Astarotte, who feared of the status difference never have friends in school until Asuha came.
Basically, all of the characters are cute looking lolis.
Enjoyment:
The synopsis give us the whole concept of the background of the story, yet the ecchi parts is does not stand out as the main event. I enjoyed the anime as it portrays harmony, and touching moments. There are some service scenes, but just enough for non ecchi lovers. They do have age issues wihich is still unresolved until the end of the story, and their relationships are getting more complicated. But just let these things slip by for this season.
Encode:
Great encode done by BloodAche.
HorribleSubs file source has few screen glitches in some episodes but doesn't affect the anime at all.
Has the Epic Lost Its Appeal?
Story:
One peaceful day, a maniacal masked menace known as Paradox came from the future and stole Yusei Fudo(the one at the right on the poster, for those who don't know)'s ace card. Yusei then followed Paradox travel back through time to redeem back his card, and to stop his evil deed - to eliminate the Duel Monsters card game from history!
Sound:
You will find many BGMs which are familiar from the previous and the newest Yu-Gi-Oh! series during the movie. Yup, it sure brings back memories.
Character:
Supposed if you are familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh series, you will know all of them.
The story is told from the point view of Yusei Fudo, the main character from the latest 5Ds series. The Paradox guy is an antagonist and ended up dying as one.
Enjoyment:
Short and in a very limited style of animation, I found that the movie did not amuse me at all. The target audience may get a kick out of it, but for those who are at the age of 15 and above, it'll be hard to see this as anything other than a shouty, tacky advert for things you'll never even bother to watch. Think of this as an OVA instead of a movie, since it's runtime is short and there isn't pretty much suspense. The battle occupies 1/2 of the whole runtime, so there isn't much thrill for the meeting between the main characters, and the time-travelling part.
Anyway, the encoding is done great!
Modern Days Fairy Tale
The story:
This is a comedy parodying fairy tales in modern days. It revolves around a school association which fulfill students' request and have them return their obligation when necessary. From the beginning of the story, they have recruited a new member, which have a crush on the female protagonist, Ookami-san, and confessed to her. Then the antagonist(bad guy) from another school appeared and they have to confront him. Thus, their bonds grow stronger day by day.
This anime is made fantasticly by renowned JC staff which produced a lot of good animes before. So there is no big problem with the quality. Besides, the opening and ending theme is presented in a joyful rhythm, which I think it is pleasant to listen to. But the sound of the narrator starts to annoy me after enjoying a few episodes, whether it is narrating important things or giving sarcastic comments because of its voice overlapping with the characters speaking. Well, it is still bearable.
As for the characters, the male who is attracted to Ookami-san in this story is gentle in his own ways, but often rejected by her for his weakness. So, he keeps on proving himself by getting stronger and showing his manly side in order to win her affection, since Ookami-san is just only giving a tough act. Every character in the story is significant, they definitely play their role to make the story keep going.
I enjoyed myself in this anime pretty much. The story gets intense, especially when the antagonist started to plot events towards Ookami-san. I enjoyed watching this anime of its smooth flowing and the story-telling method. Like fairy tales, the anime end with a happily ever after, which sometimes I found very touching in one way or another. The plot development is rather meaningful than a plotless comedy over a few episodes. That development focused on romantic struggle of the main couple.
Thanks to FShahid's amazing encodes, overall it is great, except for the first second is slightly pixelated. I also downloaded the last two episodes from Sigi89, which the details for the video is lowered since it was a TV rip. It will take some time for me to get used to Sigi89's watermarks.
Anyone who likes the typical type comedy romance is preferable to watch this anime.
By the way, can anyone tell me who is not included in the seven companions of Ookami-san?
Hooray for To LOVE-Ru fans~
When the previous title was ended from Weekly Shōnen Jump, many fans felt disapponted. But soon enough the spin-off is announced to be serialized monthly in Jump Square, which is this To Love-Ru Darkness. A continuation for To Love-Ru manga series, this title still revolves around the same characters but the plot is getting tense as there are quite a few suspense aroused. By adding "Darkness" to the name, I think many can guess that the story is moving towards the darker side, with more ecchi elements and battles.
Apparently, those who reads the previous title should know that the harem aspect is still left unsolved. So this time, more aggressive actions has been made, and girls in the story are taking more bold actions to express their love.
The author is still Saki Sasemi, and the manga is still illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki, creator of Black Cat. So the style doesn't change at all, and all the female characters are illustrated in a cute and detailed way. I simply enjoy the art. I strongly recommend this for ecchi lovers, for those who never grow tired of watching the same guy doing ecchi stuffs to girls accidentally. Reading the previous title will help you to understand the background of the characters. Nevertheless, you can start reading this as an independent new manga series.
