Can someone fall in love after getting a lolipop put in their mouth?.... I guess yes, but is it probably? Most would say no. However, if you entertain the thought then you will thoroughly enjoy the ride this show take you on. So please don't come with a closed mind set.

I would like to clear a few things. The show starts off on a bad footing, it seems like it establishes itself as a love story of a unlikely couple (older, beastly looking guy asks out a younger cuter girl) which has been done to death. However, please don't be fooled. This show has so much more to offer.

If I had to compare this show to another show, I could only come up with the comparison of Baccano. What Baccano does to the Romance/Action Genre is what Hatsukoi Limited does to the Romance Genre. Similar, as with Baccano the plot is very twisted and it takes you about half the show to see the brilliance of the the whole plot.

The plot line is probably what got me most excited. Basically, everyone is interconnected in a way. What I mean by "way" is that one person falls in love with another but another person very close to the person that the first person falls in love with is in love with the first person..... yeah I know it's confusing, but it's a lot of fun to watch. So please enjoy.

Also, if you don't like romance then I guess you shouldn't check out this show. The Ecchi in this show is limited to some panty shots, which is limited and the "camera" doesn't go out of it's way to get them. So it's not really much of an ecchi show. Just a show full of fun and love stories (not the cheesy kind).

So as the shows says "are you in love yet?"

Well, as my title depicts, you don't know anything. As you watch this show you try to pick up on clues and put some kind of story line together and when you finally do the show turns around and slaps you in the face with a whole new plot, character or both.

The openings are very nice (changes as the show changes) and the music is above averages. This show is one of those shows that makes you feel what the main character feels. It also shows you the view of the main character (you see what he sees) and you try desperately to make sense of everything along with the character. It's almost as you and him are a team that is trying to help one another reach the same goal.

You feel disappointment when he feels disappointment, you feel fear when he feels fear, you feel happy when he feels happy, etc.

In this show you are not just a spectator but you feel involved in the plot as much as the main character himself. You find yourself trying to put things together and are surprised to find that the main character comes to the same conclusion.

If you are tired of being just a spectator then dive in head first into this show to be engrossed in the plot and become one of the characters yourself...... can you tell that I enjoyed the show? :P

Note: as one anime fan to another, just know this show has no really conclusive ending but it's satisfying in it's own way.

I must say that this series is one of the best in it's genre (if not it's own genre). It really sheds the proper amount of light on it's characters and story. It's rates one of the best for a reason.

The story hits off with a lot of mystery and emotion at the end of the first episode. Mysterious is the Girl with Flaming Hair and Red Blazing Eyes. The emotion, is what the character sees in this episode and his reaction to the world he never knew or just failed to see and what he didn't know about himself.

The visuals are very colorful and beautiful. The animation is just too hard to put into words. It's Very special, so much so, that it would be no exaggeration to say that it paved the way to how most anime series after it (that are of the same genre) are animated .

The openings and ending are just awesome, some of the best I've seen (and I've see a lot of anime). The opening song so good I can't stop listening to it and I don't even understand Japanese. The visuals of the opening are very nice as well.
The dub is flawless, granted it's not like the sub in some parts and in most of the cases that is a good thing. The acting is solid and the resolve/emotions comes through just as good as it's Japanese counterpart.

Speaking of acting and characters, I would like to point out that this show succeeds as both a action anime and a romance anime (which is no easy feat, might I add). It addressed the issue of character development very well and the most adept development is with the romances between characters. One would think this would hinder the action parts but it doesn't. On the contrary, it even enhances them to some degree. Making the action and fighting seem more meaningful then just the Hero/Heroine killing monsters and bad guys.

So to sum up, this is a action packed (but not without it's romance) show, that dwells on the characters past and present situations. It also takes you on a trip of how these characters react to given circumstances and how they deal with one another and/or their everyday life. Shakugan no Shana is a ball of entertainment that you will not want to miss rolling around with.

This story is a Bittersweet one. If you are a romance fanatic and like drama then this is the show for you.
The dub is adequate, but on some parts I would like to have see the actors do better, but nothing that is that essential and they fit their characters so that is all that matters.

This show is a little old but the story is time less. Still, it takes quite a drastic turn at the end but you come out feeling satisfied.

If you have a Romance and Drama fetish you have to feed then this is the show you want. It's full of drama and somewhat of realistic reactions to circumstances.

Well, I would like to start of by saying this anime is much more fun the it may seem. I think the best part of the show is the Green Haired girl. She just seems to be so "alive". She is very well acted and you can almost "get along" with her even though you are just watching the show.

The story is weak but the Characters are what make it colorful. The fact that this hasn't been licensed yet for at least a sub only release is a mystery in it of itself.

Granted the storyline, which is about a swimming club, doesn't seem to hit any real "time to watch this in one sitting" buttons. However, once you start to watch it you can't stop. It just sucks you in and you want to know what the characters will do next, especially the green haired girl.

To sum it up. There shows very colorful in both characters and design but the story leaves something to be desired. The situations the characters get into are funny and enjoyable, but the actual story is not that impressive or memorable.

Also, when you watch the last episode, don't forget to watch the past the credits, there is a bittersweet surprise hidden there. :D

oh, where to begin. First, I really liked the dub. The characters really came to life for me. The sounded very natural and it seemed like the show was actually captured around their daily lives (that's now casual and fluid their performances were) and animated them.

The animation is very good (some why anything that comes out of Shaft is beautiful animation and unique) and it's got style all of it's own. Just watch the opening, just love how weird and "crazy" (in my mind and opinion) it is.

I really enjoyed the humor in the show (in dub) which seem very much appropriate for the situations and was very funny, which means a lot. Remember, even the funniest joke can sound stupid if told by the wrong person.

The characters a mix of generic and some original. But that doesn't cut away the fun that both original and generic characters can be and are.

All in all, I think this show is a ball of fun for any anime watcher to divide into. The first episode is a hook and it's a nice blend of comedy, supernatural and a hint of romance.

JUST WATCH IT ALREADY. THE TIME YOU ARE WASTING READING THIS REVIEW YOU COULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN ENJOYING THE SHOW.

Well what can I say, a kids show is a kids show. The quality of video is low but kids don't notice and the dub is weak but kids will like it. Just plainly a kids show, must explain why I didn't like it all that much.

Although, I some why can't shake the feeling that this show is like One Piece Meets Shaman King. It's like mix of the two. Which makes it enjoyable still it's a kids show through and through.

Well, this show is very energetic, it's hard to keep up with the main character, as in to her dialogue.
She speaks like a thousand works a minute, yet you just love her.
Her character can be compared to Haruhi from MOHS, I might think she is even more energetic.

The characters are very colorful and the story is somewhat intriguing yet there are a lot of side stories.
However, those side stories mostly go to help you understand the characters better, which the characters are the best part of this awesome show.

If you just go finished with a comedy then this is up your alley. Just be warned this, show is very fast paced at times and it's is kind of hard to keep up, yet it's quiet clear that it was intended to be that way.

The romance is not forced and most of the time ends in comedic relief, yet it's not forgettable.

Well, hope you enjoy the show as much as I have and I really recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I just must say that Madhouse did a perfect job with this one.
    The ending is really good.
The whole story is laid out in from of you through out the show but you don't notice it till the last episode.

Also, very happy Madhouse did this show, see as this type of action is their specialty. The ruthless, less softhearted action and drama that is.

If you liked Claymore then you will like this.

Two work comes to mind when I watched this. "chick flick"

I must say this is like Twilight of Anime. You know that it's mainly for chicks but you watch it in hopes that maybe the action could make up for it being a chick flick. However, you are devastated to find out that there is only 1-2 good action parts the rest is just like a sopa opera.

Sorry to say, but this show is a total chick flick and there is no way around it. I got it thinking it would be somewhat of a good action show, however to my dismay I find out that the action isn't what I thought it was and the story is about boys and man. I must say that this show also lacks females in it.

To put it bluntly. This shows target audiance is females and female only. It has nothing to offer to the male audience. I truly regret having to sit through this show in hope for something good action and instead I get a boy crying and men that watch him cry.

But, hey, if your female go right ahead, this show is just for you.

I must say that my first feel of the show is that it's like "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzmaiya" and later I found out that the director that worded on MOHS was in fact the same one that directed Kanagi. Which in itself says something.

I just will summarize and say that I liked the main characters childhood friend who seemed to more of the perspective that a childhood friend should have. She still gets into the typical scenes and quarrels a childhood friend get into in anime but the reactions to those situations is different then in most anime. To make it blunt, the childhood friend seems more real then in most other anime.

Kannagi is just as interesting as the childhood friend, the main character is quite "reasonable" in the actions he takes and thoughts that he has.

Although, we can't forget what Kannagi is essentially, it's a comedy and drama is used in comedy to just clone on later. Yet, the drama in Kannagi seems authentic and stays with you through out the course of the show and comedy doesn't quiet over shadow it. Thus, making the show quite a nice choice.

I would recommend watching Kannagi after a comedy or a drama because it's a little bit of both and a nice transition from either of the two.

Well, what can I say. This anime uses a strong story for the type of anime it is.
The pace is very nice to boot.
Just to put it bluntly, it stands out amount it's own kind (comedy anime)
That's not to say it fails as a comedy but rather that it can entertain both parties, those that are looking for a comedy and those that are looking for something else in the show.
I'm baffled to say the least as to why this show is still not licensed. I must say this show deserves to be licensed and release in Dual Audio.

By, alas, this is yet another case of "II's Pure" and "Now and Then, Here and There". Which both shows where obvious jems yet they were never licensed in their time of debut but a good 7 years later. It would seem that Kamisama Kazoku is in the same boat as those shows. The only up side to that is that both those shows got steller dubs.

I will be excited to see it once it does release.
