Well, this was one of the strangest anime I have ever seen. Storyline is about a mystery village, I wasn't able to figure out what was going on after finishing all the episodes (this one only not the sequel), only after reading reviews by other people I figured out that things are repeated in each episode and in each someone finally dies. I was trying to relate episodes to each other, but each has almost a separate story, characters are the same even with the same mood and behavior, but each time the murderer and the one who dies changes. Probably you have to read the manga to understand it better (and watch the sequel).
Drawing were with the same style as air and Kanon, excessively large eyes, and somewhat harem (most of the characters are girls).
It's opening and ending theme are OK matching the story.
Encode quality: great for the size.
Overall, to me it was boring unfortunately, but later I figured out how interesting it would've been if I know what was going on.

Again one of Studio Ghibli movies, this time nature vs human theme again, and some colorful and beautiful nature scenes.
It's story is entertaining but has some filler parts too, however they are used wisely to add to the joy of watching this movie. There are romance elements and not to forget action ones. Action scenes are really attractive too, you can feel the moves in yourself, and how brave he is fighting and moving.
Music, I didn't like that much. English dub was done perfectly.
There isn't anything special about characters, the main character is a brave and fearless boy, and definitely how a true princess should be.
Encode quality was great as expected from steveyk.
Overall, it is one of those Studio Ghibli movies, you won't regret watching it, and probably if you enjoyed it, it's re-watchable.

Lagann-hen is a summary of the second half of the tv series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The first half was in Gurren-hen.
Regarding music and animation art, the second part is better than the first, if you ask me. It's story is also more developed than the first, Simon is left with a dilema: When the one he loves becomes his enemy, what does he have to do? Yoko and Kamina are like past now, and are not that active here, you might miss them. Again story line is quite predictable specially the way Gurrens combine.
Lagann-hen is better than the first movie in some ways, but the first movie was more joyful, the second one is more romantic and heroic.
Again I suggest watching this before the series. (oh don't forget watching the first movie is a must, you'll lose the story line)

Gurren-hen is a summary of the first half of the tv series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The second half is in Lagann-hen. You'll be able to understand the story without watching the tv series, but you are losing most of the joy, it skips most of the fun parts and minor details which add to the pleasure of watching Gurren Lagann.
It's story was not the type I'd enjoy but still it was fun, it was mysterious and complicated but unfortunately you can predict what's going to happen and who is going to win the fight except for the death of Kamina if you haven't seen the series.
About drawing art it's the same as the TV series, modern and with too many colors.
Again music was heroic and great but not to my taste.
Overall, it's fun to watch the movie but not as much as the series. Everyone suggests watching the series before the two movies, contrarily I suggest watching the movie first and if it attracts you then watch the series, TTGL is more suited for shounens, so better to check the movie first to see if it's ur style or not, then go for the series.

Its story is really great, as far as I know it's based on a novel, to me it was PERFECT. It has one main story about a girl who is brought to a different world and is asked to be a queen! There are some side stories too, one of them is left incomplete. I read that its novel had stopped so they didn't continue. There is a little more in novel but it's left incomplete there too - the kirin who had lost his memory because they had broken his horn, is brought back but he's full of sin and a goddess purifies him, but it's not enough his youma have gone wild and murdered all his family members, I don't know more :(
In episode 21, En Taiho, introduces all the kingdoms. Episode 40 is almost the end of main story, and it doesn't have a concluding ending, but still is good enough.

Anyways, it has a perfect story, really entertaining and involving. Its animation is a little toward classic ones but still good, its theme songs are not that much interesting, but match anime.
About characters, it's realistic and serious plus fantasy elements (the other world she is brought to). At first, they might look boring, but once you get involved in the story, you'll enjoy it.

Overall, I personally really enjoyed this anime. If you like realistic anime with an involving plot, this is great. Although it doesn't have a perfect ending, but it has a memorable atmosphere to itself, you won't easily forget and probably miss it too.

And for encoding, like other encodes by steveyk, it's small in size and with an unbelievably good quality.

It has a familiar story, one guy all of a sudden appears from japan in another work wherein they study magic, and now he has to be familiar of someone in training with no talent (or so it seems). It has some ecchi parts and turns out to be a romance (the master loves familiar).
Theme songs were kinda little-ish :D
It has nice nice cute face drawings, some funny ecchi parts, ...

Not bad, you might enjoy it's cute characters and funny scenes.

This is one of those anime that start with a normal day, suddenly a strange creature appears and the guy turns out to be special (like bleach). The girl is a fighter who saves him. At some points stories of their past or how do they made other friends and allies is told but It's main story is about how the two get to know each other and the affection between them grows.
Its animation is pretty nice, there are some nice fighting, and many funny scenes. Opening and ending songs are cool too.
At some points it might get boring, but it all depends to taste, some might like it.
Although the last episode makes it like this was like a beginning for the sequel: Shakugan no Shana II (Yuji finally makes him mind to help Shana in her battles and he knows that because of him, his city might be in danger), but it's not to the extent that make you long for the sequel.

Overall it's entertaining, both for it's fights and comedy.

First of all watch it's movie, probably because I had seen it's movie before, I enjoyed it a little bit more. Their stories are not related to each other, you can watch them separately, but to me it's movie was better and helped me to enjoy the series.
Here there is more story to it, there are more twists and it's more involving. Animation and sounds are almost the same style. Only the main character from the movie is here and again there are some grotesque monsters and gross scenes, but series looks a little cleaner than movie.

I enjoyed it and probably the impression I had from it's movie was a reason to get a better feeling from it, but probably you'd enjoy it without the movie too.

Everything you might expect from a ninja anime is there, it's story is reasonable (realistic and serious story) but I didn't see that much deep meaning to it.
About animation, it's rather old, but there are many nice fighting scenes. Personally I didn't like the grotesque monsters. There were also some nudity and .. scenes, again was not to my taste.
Dub is perfect; I didn't like theme songs but I guess they match the story (somewhat old style).

Overall, it's enjoyable for some fighting and if you don't mind gross scenes.

The whole idea of this anime is funny: you hand turns into a girl :D
It doesn't have that much of a story, it mainly is about the comedic scenes this unfortunate problem (or fortunate problem for some) might bring. The guy is really funny, he wanted a girl and now a girl is wring on his hand, he was craving to have a girl and now he can't even do the things he usually did.

Opening and ending songs are not that special, english dub is not bad. If you've had experiences similar to that guy in finding a girl, you'd sure get the feeling and enjoy it.

By the way encoding quality is really good both audio and video.

At first it looks like a fantasy story, but if you look carefully, it is questioning some deep issues. Later it becomes clear that the main story is about how the relationship between that god girl and the boy she loves forms. It's not an anime to watch for its story.
About it's visual arts, I can say that you have lots of beautiful scenes, though you don't see those extreme animic cute girls and drawing are more on realistic side, still they are so energetic and lively that make it an interesting anime.
Opening and ending theme songs match anime itself, I liked them. English dub for characters has been done perfectly as well.
Encode quality for this small size is reasonably good.

In short if you are into slice of life anime, I'm sure you'd enjoy this one.

Each episode has a separate story, a boy with a crow gain a special power when crow is on his hand and solve the problem is each episode using this technique. They are traveling and in each place they go, they face a problem, that they easily manage to overcome. I didn't enjoy it, probably because it wasn't that much of a problem or maybe the result was obvious (he is a famous bandit, and using the same technique, they defeat everyone simply). It's more suited for younger kids.

Encode quality is really good.

Everything is strange here, it's like another world, a guy naked in street with gun and a wonderful cell phone. A magical cell phone that can do everything. The guys looks mischievous, always giggling and not caring but strangely knows how to deal with problems and escapes all the traps. It's story is that much wonderful that you might not like it to finish that soon. There is also a girl who meets him on the day he's naked on street, later it turns out that both have similar desires for the world, the girl was wishing for a better world there and the guy, in the last episode becomes clear what he wants.
Animation and songs are good too, I didn't like the way the characters were drawn except for the boy.
Encode quality, in one word, is great.

In short, I am sure that everyone will enjoy this series, though it's short.

It's story can be really interesting, there is a curse that has come from generations ago and it tells the story of those who try to remove the curse from and innocent girl and relieve the last winged being. But the way it's told is really annoying, they suspended everything till the last episodes, you get lots of fillers till you finally get what it is trying to say. Air has a movie too, I haven't seen the movie, but probably it has less fillers.
Visual arts are great as expected from an anime made in 2005, beautiful nature and sky scenes, unbelievable visual effects of sunlight, ...
It's theme songs were not to my liking, but they are not that bad.
About characters I can say that you get TOO much cute girls, almost one guy surrounded by lots of girls, yon don't get to see a single man till later that it goes on to main story. And they all have excessively large eyes.

Video quality is great, audio quality is good as well, but it's volume is low.

If you like driving fast in a car, you can get how it feels to have one of the special skates they have, it is like flying in the sky. Air gear is all about the fun they have with one of those skates and the kids who turns out to know naturally how to fly with them. It's story is left unfinished, many mysteries are left unsolved, probably we should be looking for another season and I'm sure you will be after watching all the 25 episodes, since it looks like everything's just getting started.
Opening and ending themes are really fascinating, it has lots of comedic scenes, some might be that funny, but most of them are enjoyable (probably those are the only things you get from this series).

Video has been encoded really good, but it's has a low quality audio.

The only thing which makes this series to get a low mark is that it's story hasn't begun yet, and when it looks like it's beginning, you're already on last episode!

It was really exciting, though the summary looks like some si-fi story, but it wasn't a si-fi story, it was more romance and slice of life kind.
You see how funny someone could possibly make use of such a power, and that's what makes it really enjoyable. On top of that how strange she deals with her love case is really funny, and unique in its own way. These are the things which make watching this movie an exciting experience.
It's graphic arts is not like other anime with cute style characters, it's more real-life-like faces and it's clean and simple.
Songs used were not my good to my taste, maybe I was looking for a more active and energetic song than a romantic one.
Encode quality is not that superb, but still it's good with this size. At some fast moving scenes, you'll have too much artifacts.
Overall I enjoyed watching this movie, it was an exciting movie for me.

It's story is creative, and maybe too much imaginative, you should put away all of your reasoning, and just watch for some beautifully emotional story. You might expect to see what's the mystery behind the curse of their family, but in fact it's just an excuse, the thing it's showing is how relationships and how friends can be important in ones life. Their strange curse is used to depict how someone feels when left alone by all the others, when nobody pays attention and is left outside of Fruit Basket. It shows how friends can help you overcome your problems, thought you yourself might not have any reason for yourself, yet your friends can be a reason for you.
Beautiful comedic scenes are probably the strongest point of this anime, you have lots of attractively drawn scenes.
Just imagining people in form of animal can be really amazing, now Fruit Basket, bring you a world in which people are really like animals, they transform into animals, they behave like their animal form. Their relationships with each other is the same as their animal forms too. You might find some unreasonable characteristics, but still they helps to the creation of lovely characters.
I watched the dubbed version, everything is dubbed even songs. The lyrics are not interesting when put into English, but they don't sing that much bad either, however the Japanese ones are much better.
Encode quality is good, but it could be made a little smaller in size.
Overall, Fruit Basket is one of popular animes and is really interesting if you are in an emotional mood.

This is really an unclear anime, it started like a usual anime, all the characters also looked natural, not like some fantasy anime, it was really like horror anime, but then it changes to a detective-story-like anime, then later it adds some obscenity (similar to that of blue gender), then goes to mystery, then suddenly everything changes and it turns out like one of those anime explaining on anime production, episode 10 was completely about the personnel involved in anime production, and finally it is a psychological anime, and the reason behind all of those things is justified as illusion, and this illusion is what those people used to escape from reality and somehow indicates that anime itself is an illusion and that self-deception and anime character people are lured with, are the exact same thing. In short, it goes into different phases in each episode and there is always a comedic element present there, maybe to break the rules of genres and allowing for a more flexible framework which is able to keep all of those phase shiftings in one piece. No wonder it can't be reasonable enough to justify all the events, to me it sounded like a way to wrap up things. Some of the deaths and events during anime especially deaths of anime production group are totally un-reasonable, probably they wanted to tell that they are also dead because of their obsession with anime.

Visual art is not bad, characters look real in first episodes then it changes to animic style characters for some parts. General atmosphere of anime is somewhat dark. Sound suit the current of events. Opening and ending themes are matching too, but the ending song is rather too calm for the mysterious color of story.

If you don't have any problem with animes which don't follow any rule and mix bits of different things into one anime, probably you might like this anime.

Full of plot twists, rapid pacing story, is what makes it all different from others. This is a continuation to the first Code Geass, at first the reason for Lelouch being still alive seems kind of lame, but later in the story, you'll find out why. Like the fist series, this one is great too, on par with the famous Death Note. Its story and plot is perfect leaving no room for complains, at first you might feel bad about some parts, but as the story goes on, the mysterious parts are revealed, and with a dramatic ending leaves you in a state of happiness and sorrow, sorrow for the loss of a great person, Lelouch, and happiness for the new world he's created.
Personally I don't like mecha animes, but in this one, there are lots of other features that make it really enjoyable. Although in most fighting scenes, result is almost predictable, but they are still amusing, probably because we are waiting to see what strategy Lelough would take after that, and how he's going to make it out.
Some episodes are not completely related to the main story line and can be seen as a temporary escape from all those restless and involving fights and dangers Lelouch faces. At some points his actions might seem a bit evil, but every time, we'll find out that he's got a really kind heart.
Opening and ending songs are not that great, but still acceptable.
Characters are out of any question, both their personality and appearance are perfectly made.
It's all a beautiful, enjoyable, great story. If you feel bored of animes with repeated themes, this is the one to move you.

Azumanga Daioh doesn't have any particular story, it's simply showing the life of a bunch of friends from the start of high school, till they graduate. I shows how school life can have its own benefits, how being with friends can be fun; even if their behavior might be annoying to you, having them around is fun. Going out with friends, chatting, studying, even fighting with each other are are parts of life that without them we have lost part of our live.
Mostly it tries to depict how much fun can school be, how much friends can be helpful, through amazingly hilarious scenes.
The first episodes might be boring since there is no special plot, it's a mixture of different small stories, making the life of them from first year of high school till the last year. If you've seen Lucky Star, it is something similar to that.
About characters, I can say that each has her own attitudes, one is genius, one is mischievous, one is slow and clumsy, one is athletic and so all of them are attractive in their own way.
Opening and ending theme songs were mediocre. Encode quality for video was really great, however, audio tracks have different qualities, and their order sometimes changes. Subtitles for episode 21 were really beautiful.

In short, if you like animes like Lucky star, this is one great anime for you.

It was amazing, involving, interesting, great, everything that can you call a great anime. Though its topic -immortals- seems ordinary, but the way its story is told, the way episodes are ordered, and the way story ends, makes it completely different.
Episodes don't have any special order, you have to watch all the episodes one by one to get what's going on, or even you have to watch it twice to understand the details. It goes frequently back and forth in time, so you have to concentrate well on dates to fully understand the story.
It has every aspect one might be seeking, fight, adventure, mystery, horror, comedy. The way they fight is really unique to them, guns, knifes, bare handed, ... , you really feel the joy of fighting and killing. Till the last episode you have still mysteries to be revealed, rail tracer, ...., even after the last four OVA episodes you'll find out that there were more mysteries hidden than you already thought would be.
The couple make most of comedic scenes, but it's not limited to them, while the overall feeling of series is happy, you have horror and romantic scenes too.
In short, it has got everything and all at their best.

This is one the greatest series I have ever seen. In every aspect xxxHolic is extraordinary, graphics, story, characters, everything is great.
Mystery, darkness, adventures,and it's ideologies all are brand new, like the style of animation, it's graphics are creative, different from all others.
New experience in a strange supernatural word with strange characters, both their physical appearance and their attitudes are interestingly unusual. Even if one is not attracted by supernatural stories, sure these funny characters and creative visual style of xxxHolic are irresistible.
Opening and ending songs are beautiful too, ending song of the first half is more interesting than the second ending song.
If you feel bored of those childish comedy anime, this can bring your mood back.
Don't miss this fantastic masterpiece!

It's story is not that much good, but it's fighting scenes and Afro's swordsmanship are for sure interesting. If you're going to watch it for it's story, it can be really boring at some points, but if you want action and fights, this series sure is great.
I personally didn't like its theme songs, maybe they are good, but they were not to my taste.
Afro looks very brutal but at some points he appears with a very kind heart and his pal look like some funnily lazy guy. In short, it's good watching for fighting scenes.

This is a continuation of Afro Samurai: Directors Cut, but their reasoning for starting the fights again, was kinda lame to me, it's overall story is better than Directors Cut, and there is still those joyful actions, swordsmanship, but how his pal comes to live is unknown, wasn't he dead in the series?! How's that his friend is fighting him again, there are so many lame excuses for continuing the series. If you want to watch it for its nice fighting scenes, it is still as joyful as Afro Samurai: Directors Cut.

It has some interesting points, there eccentric guys, contrasting each other, in the middle of something mysterious and full of motion. I really liked opening and ending themes. But it's really short, to the extent that it would take away all of your joy!

This series is somehow similar to that famous Mushi-shi, but sure mushi-shi is much better. A girl is traveling with a motorcycle (and the reason for her traveling is told in shortly in one episode), in each country she arrives, there is an interesting story which will be disclosed to her gradually, or in some episodes she faces a situation, she's to deal with somehow. Overall it's nice to pass some free time.
I liked its opening song, but its ending theme was not to my taste.
About encoding quality it's great, you have 5ch for english audio (that caused me so much problem, because i used Jetaudio's internal audio decoder, and it couldn't downmix to 2ch). There is a problem with de-interlacing too, you have some visible horizontal lines, but they won't annoy much, and you can correct them with interlacing options of most players (vlc, mplayer). You have got three options for subtitles two (only for non-dialogs, all, and non-styled all).

This movie is as beautiful as other Studio Ghibli movies, maybe even better than most of them.
Although this movie is with the similar graphical styles to those other movies, but its story is somehow different, we have those imaginary creatures again, but there is no stupid love story, I enjoyed this more than those stories ending with a love finding girl. There is a boy here too, but main story is not too much concerned with main girl's relations with him, and that's nice for me.
Opening and ending songs are beautiful too.

Its story is like other movies from studio ghibli, imaginary extraordinary characters, with a quite involving story and a happy ending usually with some love finding.
However you can get some side issue form these movies too, maybe some moral points, or advices for life with children as its intended viewers usually.

Its story was unique, however it had a real pace, to the extent that you might get bored with the first episodes. If you stand it, in some episodes it will explain what's the story and finally in the last two episodes, everything is somehow wrapped up while still some things remain in mystery. One episode in the middle of series, I guess, was as a comic relief or something like that, as if viewer had to come up with some idea to relate that with other episodes. Some episodes are completely, from beginning till end, the story one character is daydreaming and thus misleading the viewer, like episode 20. Opening and ending theme are really nice too. That's all.

First of all, you should never watch this unless you have watched most of famous animes already. Believe me, it can get really boring if you haven't watched them before. It's story is the usual life of ordinary people and nothing extraordinary, you should have a little knowledge about Japanese culture, animes and games to be able to feel the humor which I guess is an important element all over this series.
Opening theme was not bad, but ending theme can be really boring, it changes every episode and in the last episodes, it is completely ridiculous.
If you intend to watch in English audio, you shave to be good in listening too, those girls sure speak a lot.

This is much the same as other movies from Gabli studio, their story line is replete with a strong sense of imagination, beautiful nature scenery and a semi-romantic story (usually intended for children).
There is one thing about one of English voice actors that bugs me: the one speaking for boy does not match appearances of the animation boy. It really annoyed me especially during beginning of story.

If you look at the overall story, it doesn't look that much interesting, but the main interesting point are its details. The tricks Light and L play, their tactics, their wit. The events will draw you into the story, you feel like you want to find out what you yourself would do if you were in his position, what is next and what they will do.
During Light's fight with L, he is interestingly clever, and it is really involving, so that I couldn't stop watching it for the first 15 episodes. After L dies, Light seems to have lost his mind, although he is intelligent still, but his moves were not what I expected from that first person, I wanted a better ending. Even I could see through N's moves.
Opening and ending themes seemed to me really annoying. It's not the type I like.
Regarding quality, it seems to me like the original source has not been that much good. But still its quality is not bad.

Oh my.. what was this? I can't believe, FLCL is something else, this anime is totally different from all the others, story, animation, everything. If I hadn't read its summary before, I couldn't figure out what's it all about. If you like creative ideas, this one is for you.

Like I told everything is strange about this anime.

This is one of high ranking animes, its story is quite interesting, you have to wait till you can find out what's the story and its not simple to guess, I liked it. Opening and ending songs were nice, though I didn't like that ridiculous pictures displayed during theme songs, which are unrelated to the story (I guess the one making them had no idea of what the anime was about). About graphics as it is mentioned it's R but I guess that R should go for violence, there are many scenes that bodies are sliced, arms cut off, etc. Overall its a nice anime and worth watching.

Despite it doesn't have a top ranking on myanimelist, it Is really interesting, especially opening and ending themes are killing me. They are really interesting. The story and graphics are not bad too, but the best thing about it is that nice ending song. About characters, you'll have a story in which an unusual hero raises (pure fiction). Graphics are nice too: detailed and bright!!!? Encode quality is also great as usual. I'm sure that you'd enjoy it.

I don't like stuff about vampires much, cause that's a very typical theme. Everywhere you look, there is a vampire, it's becoming really annoying. However this one is somewhat different, you see a different vampire, the true immortal vampire, seemingly mischievous, he is different, he is more human than most humans, he's loyal to his master.
Though it gets a bit predictable that he'd win, still it's interesting. I even dare to compare this series to Cowboy Bebop, though there is not that much fascinating movements, there is a hero that won't go down that easily.

The story is really interesting and involving, something similar to 12 kingdom: a normal human or maybe better to say a clumsy person, turns out to be a god in another world, but unfortunately you'd be left with an unfinished story, it seems to be just the beginning of everything. I heard that its based on an unfinished manga, so there is no wonder, probably there should be a second season to here. Ignoring this unresolved plot, it is a really nice anime, the graphics are really amazing unlike those boring old styled anime, just watching it would be fun without paying attention to the story. By the way, you'll face many new ideas that would make you think about life and existence and challenge common folk ideas about god and spirits.

This is the story where Vivi separates from rest of them but they say that they are still nakama, you will see their fights with Crocodile and Mr.... s. Like other one piece movies this one is also a good one, you'll like it for sure.

It has no involving story line or adventure, it's just set of love stories which honestly I couldn't figure out what their ends were, what happened to the relationship of those two in first story? how they separated? About the second story: didn't she tell him? Overall its just set of love events and nothing more.
Oh it has really great animation, vivid pictures, beautiful scenes, colorful background, etc.

This is not like other animes, it's not filled with comedic scenes, or actions, on the contrary it has a quiet story line. Indeed each episode has the same framework as the others, in each episode there is a problem which the mushi master(mushi: a kind of organism that according to the story can be the cause of many unusual and unknown phenomenon) solves. However, the problems are really involving and interesting, you begin to think about them yourself and you won't get bored. The whole story has no ending, but episode 12 is about the childhood of Ginko.
(This is interestingly a completely clean anime)
Besides the period he can stay at a single place depends on the conditions of that area, he himself comments.

The opening and ending themes are not that much good, however the animation itself is quite fascinating, lots of action, quick movements, you sure would enjoy their fighting and also their eccentric characteristics. Personally I didn't enjoy much from the story line, you have to wait till the very end of the story, but watching it was kind of moving, you can feel their moves, their terror and their excitements.
Video encoding quality is great, but I had a little problem with audio tracks, it seems somehow the volume is not enough high and also the audio tracks were misnamed (English for Japanese and vice versa).

If you feel depressed, you feel that you have no money, no job, no girlfriend, no future, no luck, don't worry, the main character in this anime is just so much like you, maybe this anime might help you get over everything!


Besides the first episodes have two subtitles, while the last ones have no subtitle at all.

It is a sad, and impressive story, but so real. If you watch for fun and escape some time, this is not a good choice.

The graphics were not to my taste, the story is about life, maybe reasoning that life is what it is, do not think too much about your future, take it easy and the like. I liked the theme, but the graphics waere not of the kind I like. Also there are some issues I guess culture related, and some with different cultures might think differently about them.

Well, this was not that much of my personal taste, and the theme of the story is about having faith in oneself. Once you believe in yourself, your way of living will change, and the like. However, it is not that much bad, it was just my personal opinion.

Well, if you check imdb.com this movie is among top 100. The story is somewhat appropriate for children, and somehow childish. However it will involve you if you sit and watch it. The story line itself is amusing, but the characters are childish in the way I said. I did not like the way the people looked like in that town. I also did not like the way it ended, the guy turns out to be a river spirit. Ignoring these it is amusing and you will not regret watching it.

Though somewhat old (1998), it is an interesting one. It's just a matter of style, whether you are into these kind of excitement or not. The first episodes were a little boring to me, but as it goes on it becomes really interesting. I even began to want more, I wanted more of that escape scenes, more of fighting and gun shooting. It seemed to me that the way they lived, were the way I wanted to live myself. The behavior of characters were just how I wanted my whole world to be. It is something like a different type of idea, Cowboys of past living in the future. The music was great, exactly suits the movie and the way characters live.
By the way the movie of this series is also great, and may be better than the series (to be honest, I preferred the series to have the sort of fighting, shooting, and escaping scenes of the movie).

Boy, I really enjoyed this, I even expected to watch more even after it was finished, I am going to download the series. The actions were really involving, you could feel the joy of fighting or escaping scenes. The characters with their strange attitudes were really interesting. You would miss something great, if you don't watch it. I watched with English audio. The subtitles were not precise: the audio said something and the subtitles something else, so I had to watch without subtitles. The quality of encoding is also great, you get the choice the audio between jap and en, you have optional sub, what more can someone expect? In one word, watching it was real fun.

The story had the familiar theme of whether computers can replace humans or not, however retold in another language with a different story. The incidents are really fun. A boy who is strangely shy with girls has to teach girlish things to Chii, the things Chii do because of not knowing the right things, all were fun to me. To pass and enjoy some time, it is not bad at all.

Overall, I liked it, the theme although the familiar vampire, has been developed with a positive attitudes to vampire. However because it is too short, you may be left with many questions while you are just getting to know what was going on. It seems you are intentionally left in the middle of story, both from the beginning and ending of movie, so that you might expect the movie to be continued.
Some of the horror scenes didn't seem interesting to me, by the way. The development of characters was left incomplete. The fight between two groups is shown somehow like it is the last one while the movie ends, while during the movie you are given the feeling that it is an always on-going struggle. At the beginning of the movie an innocent is killed by the hero and you will never find why there has been such an order. If you are going to fill the blanks with your imagination, it is a good movie.
