Sakai Yuuji is a regular high school student. One day while walking home from school, he encounters a monster which feeds off the very existence of people. Now on the verge of death, a mysterious girl called a "flame haze" appears and saves him. The story unfolds as Sakai increasingly learns of the truth in his life and reality around him.
